Gold Butte is located between the Grand Canyon Parashant National Monument, Arizona, and Lake Mead National Recreation Area, just south of the City of Mesquite. It is over 350,000 acres of historical, cultural, and biological resources. Gold Butte is named for the historic mining town and tent city of 1,000 miners in the early 1900’s.
Important Note Regarding Registration to Participate in Field Trips
Due to limited group size and high demand, you must register to participate in field trips. Sign up begins one month prior to each trip at approximately 1:10 p.m. on each Friday at the conclusion of the Brown Bag lecture. Participants must provide their own vehicles and fuel. Many trips will require a high clearance vehicle and four-wheel drive capacity. Lunch is provided by DASIA for a cost of $10 per person.
